God has blessed me much more than I could ever deserve. I hope to live my life in complete praise to Him--the One who has given me everything.

Awesome friends!

I honestly have the best friends in the world! Tricia, Crysty, and Summer are coming over to my apartment tonight to help me pack!! They are also helping us move along with my dad and brother. I have NO idea what I would do without them. They come without being called. They are friends no matter what you are going through. I've never had friends like these & am overwhelmed by their love and selflessness. God has definitely been using them in a powerful way in my life. They don't realize their impact on me, which makes it even sweeter. They are so humble. Each girl is such a blessing to me.

So, "Thank you girls!" You have been such a huge influence in my life. You have been my strength, my joy, my comfort and safety. I have heard many times in life that friendships come and go. I pray that there is never a day that I wake up and say, "I really miss her. I wish we still kept in touch." Whether we span the US or the globe eventually, I pray that we will stay as much apart of each other's walk as we are today. Love you girls!

(And...if you could see me typing this, you would definitely know that I am pregnant...I'm crying! I don't cry at things like these. Motherhood...changing me already. LY!)

Sick

Well, I have definitely picked the wrong time to be sick!! I've been sick for the past two days. It started Sunday night late & is finally starting to get better. I have had a SPLITTING headache, chills, and sick at my stomach. NOT FUN! So, while I lay around wishing I was at work, I'm looking at all of the things that need to be done before we move in 2 weeks!! I had so many plans for Monday afternoon! I typically get off at noon on Mondays and I had planned to pack & sort things that I want to put in the yard sale.

Speaking of a yard sale, guess what it is supposed to do on Saturday...RAIN! That is the only day we have available for a yard sale. I have no idea what we're going to do if it rains because we have no desire to move all of the things we're planning on selling. So, I'm praying for rain on Friday and Sunday, but not Saturday!

I'm sure you've been thrilled to log on and read this blog of my vented frustrations! Sorry. Today, that's about all I've got. Hopefully I'm on the mend and can be back at work tomorrow. Ryan is planning on packing a little tonight. I am so thankful to have him as a husband!! He really helps out when needed. Love you, Baby!!

Hope you all are having a much better week than I am!! Love you all!

We heard it!

Yesterday was my 2nd doctor's appointment. I am now 12 weeks. At this appointment we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was REALLY cool. The doctor said we would find out the sex of the baby in 8 more weeks! I can't wait.

Our moving plans are coming along well. We will move the 12th of May. I cannot wait to be in the new apartment and settled!! It will be another month before I am anywhere close to that, but I can't wait.

This weekend is Fort Worth's annual Arts & Music Festival. We always try to attend if we are in town. It is one of the coolest things in the DFW area. They block off Main Street for about 10 blocks & set up tents with vendors all down the middle of the road. Ryan is drilling this weekend, but we are hoping to get by there for a few hours at least!

That's about all I know for now. I hope you all are doing well!!

Wonderful Easter Weekend!!

Our weekend started out on a GREAT note. We found an apartment!!! I am so excited & relieved! It is a 2 br/1 bath apartment with a sunroom. The closets are HUGE & the rent is only $31 more than we pay now. Plus, the complex has 6 pools & a fitness center! It should only take me 25 minutes or so to get to work & there's no difference for Ryan. I am so, so happy to have this behind us. Wanna know the best part?! We have hook-ups for our washer & dryer!! Now I can do laundry without having to leave the apartment. Now to figure out how to get the washer and dryer to Texas...hmmm...not sure how that one's going to happen. Too bad we don't have the "beam me up Scotty" working yet! ;-) My dad is driving our car here, so he can't bring it. I'm not sure how we will get it here, but hopefully it will work out close to the time we move in so that we don't have to go to the laundry mat! Anyway, washer/dryer complications aside we are ready to move in!!

Saturday we went to the Dallas Arboretum with the Morris & Kimberlin families. It was a lot of fun. The Parkers were supposed to go with us, but Tricia decided to get food poisoning! Just kidding! Tricia we are glad you're feeling better & wish you all could have joined us! The day was BEAUTIFUL!!! It was the perfect day to be outdoors.

From the Arboretum we headed to run errands. After we were finished I talked Ryan into going to IKEA. I think we set a record for the fastest time in and out! We went in to look for a few specific things. When we were finished looking at them, we left. I contribute my pregnancy to that! I'm sure Ryan wishes it was always that way. Being tired all of the time, I had NO desire to walk the whole store & showroom! We did get some ideas for the new apartment.

Yesterday's worship was great. After church we went to Bret & Summer's for some delicious food!! Man can Summer cook!! It was delicious. After we ate, we all just sat around and talked. Then the girls got the idea to do this quarter test on me to see if I'm having a boy or girl. Summer has had it done on her & it has turned out the same every time by different people's hand. So, the result...a girl. We'll have to wait a few months to see if it is correct. I am very interested to see if this thing works. Don't worry...we'll let you know as soon as we find out.

I hope you all had a great Easter!! Enjoy the pics below.

Week of relaxation

This week has been great! I have to say that besides seeing my husband & dog, I don't have much of a desire to go back. I know that sounds harsh, but I really have enjoyed my time here. My mom and I have gone and done as we pleased. (They took the news GREAT by the way. Laura, I promise I will call!) We have shopped for maternity clothes, ate out, slept in, took naps, watched Days, and just had a great time together. It has been the perfect week. Of course, that's what vacations are. You never really want to return to your daily life. But, this time I have realized just how much I really miss Paducah. I love the aspect of the DFW area & having tons to do, but not having family around just doesn't compare. Oh well...that's a topic for another day.

My dad was so excited to find out the news that I am pregnant that he posted signs on EVERY entrance to the church Sunday morning saying, "I AM GOING TO BE A GRANDFATHER!--Glen A." You could tell he was happy. It was cute to see!! Plus, it was the perfect way for Ryan and me to get out the news. I can't say why exactly, but I have a hard time telling people. I know it's strange...so am I! Anyway, we had a great time that morning visiting with so many. That church will always be my family. I grew up there and have many 2nd moms, dads, aunts, uncles, and cousins! I really feel like they are family even though we aren't related. I guess it will always be that way. It is hard to be away from them. One day... :)

We bought a new car yesterday. Well...new to us. My parents got a new Impala & we bought theirs. I have been fretting over what kind of car we were going to get & not spending a lot of money. Ryan and I really don't believe in spending a lot of money in a car. It just gets too materialistic too fast if you're not careful! So, we bought my parents car. It is a 2002 Impala with 45,000 miles. I think we did pretty good! Plus, it has a sunroof in it! I told Ryan that I wanted our next car to have a sunroof. I didn't really think I would get my wish, but I did!! Whoohoo! Now we have a reliable car. We just have to find a new place to live & we'll be all set for the baby's arrival. Ready? No probably not. I don't think we'll ever be prepared, but at least he/she will have a roof over his/her head. One issue down, one to go.

I hope you all have had a great week. To those in Dallas, I have missed you and can't wait to see you. Hope all has gone well.

Love to you all,
Lesli

It is official...

I am pregnant!! I have been hiding it on this blog for a little while. That has not been an easy thing!! But, the parents know so it is out in the open.

Ryan and Nathan are leaving today to head back to Texas. So, Ryan will be taking the laptop. It will be possible to check the blog everynow and then, but don't expect another post until I return to Texas. I hope you all have had a great weekend!!

Love you all!
Lesli

P.S. Ryan has started a website for us. It is still a work in progress. (I think he thinks my blog isn't up to his standards!) Anyway, check it out sometime. He should have it up and going pretty soon. It is www.ryanandlesli.com.
