Christmas & News

Family left this morning. Although it was not a traditional Christmas in Paducah, it was a good Christmas. We played games, watched TV, went shopping the day after Christmas, and ate GOOD food. It was a lot of fun being around family. Here are a few pictures:

The little miss slept through the entire service! She did great!

Sydney has really started smiling. We were lucky enough to catch this one with a camera.

As tradition, the Anderson boys cooked Christmas breakfast. It was good...eggs and bacon! Yum!

And now for the news....

Ryan and I got great news over the Christmas holiday...Chris & Laura (Ryan's brother & his wife) are pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!! I'm going to be an aunt!! Now that we have had a child, we are so much more excited to hear of others having children. There really isn't anything else like it in the world! I am so excited to be an aunt, but I'm more excited that they will get to experience what we have been experiencing the last 2 months!! Congrats you two!! We love you!

The other news...my cousin Leah is pregnant!! That one competely took us by surprise! I am so tickled for them. She is such a sweet person & will make a great mother.

Both ladies are due in August. Next summer will be a fun time for both sides of our family!! I can't wait to share in this time with both families. Love you both!!

Two months!!

It is so hard to believe that she is already two months old. Yesterday was her two month birthday. What did she get to do?! Get 4 shots!! She handled it just like her momma would--kicking and screaming! But, what else would you expect from an infant?! Her momma...yeah I'm not that bad anymore. :-) I still don't like needles, but at least I don't kick and scream.

The doctor gave her a clean bill of health yesterday. That is a very good thing especially since Ryan and I have both been fighting off colds the last couple of days. We've tried to keep her occupied without picking her up and getting her close to our faces, but sometimes you just have to. So, I praise God that she has been able to stay healthy.

That is about all we have going on right now. Hope you all have a great Thursday!!

Changes and Christmas

Sydney is changing so fast. She has started cooing a little bit. It is so cute. She has also started rubbing her eyes when she's tired. I even heard her laugh in her sleep the other night. That alone melted my heart!

I had one of our ministers tell me shortly after she was born that you fall in love with your child more and more each day. I didn't have a huge bond with her at birth. I expected to be so overwhelmed. I was in ways, but not like I thought I would be. So, that day I took comfort in his words. I now agree. Each day I am with her (and probably even if I was away from her) I fall in love with her more and more. She really is the best thing that has ever happened to either one of us.

I can't believe she is 8 weeks old today! She will be 2 months in 5 days!!! Wow! Time sure does fly. Here are a few pictures of her lately.

Christmas will be here in 10 days!! I can't wait! Normally at this point I'm running around trying to finish getting presents & thinking of packing, but this year I don't have as many to buy for and family is coming to us. After going in at Thanksgiving, I am glad that family is coming here. It was GREAT seeing everyone, but it was a little stressful being in someone else's home (of course, they were my parents but still...) and having a screaming baby at night. It is one thing for her to disrupt our sleep in our home, but I hated that she was waking up my brother & parents. Plus having to pack everything she might need and enough of it was crazy! It was a lot of fun being in, but I'm glad we'll have a little time between visits.
I can't wait until family gets here. We get the chance to be with our families only a few times a year. So, the times that we do get we cherish. It will be fun to have them all here even if it is for a few days.
Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love the lights, music, and spirit that it brings. You see people being nice to others just because. Sure, there are some that aren't but as a whole our spirits are lighter and more positive of what the new year can bring. I just wish we kept this type of generosity and love throughout the year. What a much better place we would be.
To you all (since this will probably be my last post before Christmas), I wish you the best this Christmas. May these days be filled with wonderful memories to be cherished for years to come.

Seeing Santa

Friday night Ryan and I took Sydney to see Santa. She did GREAT!! I was worried she would be fussy or even worse, spit up on Santa. She didn't. She just looked up at him & looked around at all the lights. I was so happy. I know she doesn't know the difference, but it was still neat to get the picture. It was a treasured time that I'll never forget.
After visiting Santa, we headed to Bret & Summer's. Along with the Kimberlins, we listened to Christmas music, played Domino's, chatted, & got home at 2 AM!! It was a ton of fun!! Thanks Morris family for having us!! We got pics in front of their tree that I hope to post soon.
I hope you all are enjoying this holiday season!
